How Nutrients Do Helps?
People must follow the food pyramid & eat a wide variety of food & also from a mixture of food groups, including proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals & adequate quantity of water, in order to continue fit, healthy, & also to provide their bodies with the necessary nutrients.
Basically, there are 2 types of nutrients — macronutrients (including proteins, fats, carbohydrates, amino acids & water) & micronutrients (including minerals, photochemical & vitamins,).
The micro nutrients are required in relatively tiny amounts in comparison to the macro nutrients. While they are extremely important for the healthy functioning & growth of the body, micro nutrients don’t contain any energy but macro nutrients do contribute a major amount of energy to the body when absorbed. The body simplifies micronutrients through digestion in order to exploit them.
Not all the micro nutrients & macro nutrients present in our diet are wholly absorbed by our body. Though the body exploits carbohydrates as its chief source of energy, it also uses up proteins & fats at times of unavailability of carbohydrate. This is the basis why the general thumb rule has been structured which says that 60 percent of the body’s energy necessities must be sourced from carbohydrates, 30 percent from fats & 10 percent from proteins. However, the reality remains that of the energy containing macro nutrients, fats provide the majority part of energy by mass to the body. This is for the reason that while 1 gram of carbohydrates & proteins supply just 5 calories, the equal quantity of fat provides 10 grams of calories to the body.
